MOUNT VERNON UMC MARKS ITS 138TH ANNIVERSARY!
On Sunday, September 21st, members of Mt. Vernon UMC gathered in the Fellowship Hall to celebrate the church’s 138th anniversary. The church was dedicated on September 26, 1887, and continues to serve its members and the community today. Bob and Carole Dishman, Church Historians, had created an informative bulletin board display of historical photos and documents and provided a history timeline handout to commemorate the event. Many thanks to the Dishmans for their many hours of effort expended to research and preserve Mt. Vernon's history. The celebration continued with refreshments and a special anniversary cake.
