Linda has been singing since she was 15 years old and was fortunate to attend Susquehanna University’s Conservatory of Music—a small Lutheran college in central Pennsylvania. After she received her BS Degree in Music Education Linda had planned to spend the rest of her days singing and teaching in public schools. So when she found herself making music in the church, she was sure it would be a “temporary gig”. However, God had another plan for her — first leading her to Leesburg UMC as the youth choir director for one year; then to St Paul UMC in Woodbridge, VA, as the adult director for two years; next to Trinity UMC in Newport News, VA, directing preschool through adult choirs for seventeen years; and finally to First UMC Fox Hill, in Hampton, VA, directing a “graded choir program” for preschool through adults for 23 years. After a total of 43 years in music ministry, Linda retired from FUMC Fox Hill in 2014, knowing that what she thought was “temporary”, was actually a call to music ministry—her way to serve the Lord.
Linda and her husband Dick began their marriage many years ago in Williamsburg while he was in law school. After moving several times and living for 40 years in Hampton, they found their way back to the Williamsburg area in 2017. Linda enjoys serving as a resource for anyone who wants to sing to the glory of God!
